Article summary

Managing a survey project effectively from its inception to completion requires an understanding of the tools and features available within dtect. This guide will walk you through the essential steps of managing participant data collection, ensuring you can optimize your survey's performance and data quality.

Progress Monitoring

We built dtect to be THE data quality platform to prevent survey fraud but also included a suite of features to make collecting participant data as seamless as possible.

Data Export

As soon your first participant comes through dtect, it's possible to export a CSV file which shows all starts. Use the Export feature to download detailed reports on participant activity and security check outcomes. See CSV Export for more information.

Analyze these reports to identify trends and areas that may need adjustment, such as high rates of security terminates or participant drops.

Editing Project Settings

Based on the results of your data export review, you may want to make edits to the security, quality settings, or specs of your project.

Viewing Per-Supplier Metrics

dtect offers overall project metrics at the top of the Progress page, in order to see per-supplier metrics you'll need to scroll to the bottom of the URL/Redirects page. You'll find one tile for each supplier and each supplier shows their individual stats. If you click on a supplier it will take you to a further break down of the data.

High Percentage of Drops
Drops can come from a variety of sources for a variety of reasons.
We've found a high percentage of online quantitative participant supply is made up of scammers, frauds, or those misrepresenting who they are to gain an incentive. When these participants reach dtect, they either realize they are encountering a higher level of security or their script / automation is not made to work with dtect, causing them to drop out.

These drops are expected, typical, and will happen on every project. This is a major part of the value of dtect, keeping out these frauds before they get a chance to even make it to your survey.

If your drops are exceeding 10% in dtect, you may be encountering an issue that needs to be looked at. Please reach out to dtect Support.

High AI Use Detected
We've found that with B2B tech supply you'll be much more likely to see AI use detected as they're used to using technology to make their lives easier. The only way to terminate at this question is to paste into the Open End box.
