Link Protector includes an Overview tab where you can monitor real time performance for each protected link. This dashboard shows participant volume, block behavior, and the specific security checks triggered during sessions.
Overview Tab
The Overview tab displays key performance indicators for the active Link Protector.
Session Outcomes
Each participant session is recorded with one of these outcomes:
- Allowed – participant passed all checks and reached the protected link
- Blocked – participant failed one or more checks
- Dropped – participant clicked I agree but left before checks completed
All outcomes appear in exports and count toward Total Participants
| Metric | Description |
|---|---|
| Total Participants | The total number of participant sessions created when a user clicks ‘I agree.’ This counts all sessions, including repeat attempts. It is not a count of unique visitors. |
| Participants Blocked | The number of visitors who failed one or more security checks and were prevented from reaching the protected link. |
| Block Rate |
The percentage of participants who were blocked. Calculated as: Blocked ÷ Total Participants × 100 Dropped sessions do not count toward the block rate. Only sessions with a Blocked outcome are used in the calculation. |
| Date Filter | Filter metrics by day, week, or a custom range. Filters also apply when exporting data. |
The Overview tab also displays a breakdown of the reasons why participants were blocked.
Viewing Block Reasons
When a participant is blocked, Link Protector records which security checks were triggered.
To view aggregate block reasons:
Open the Link Protector details page. Scroll to the Block Reasons section for the summary. For participant level detail, use Download.
Common examples include:
- Duplicate Device – same device or browser detected more than once
- Duplicate IP – the same IP address was used in a prior session
- Duplicate ID – the same participant ID re-entered after a completed session
How Test Mode Affects Metrics
When Test Mode is enabled:
- All checks still run
- Failed checks are displayed as Blocked in the export
- Participants continue to the protected link
- Use this mode to preview block behavior before enabling real blocking
Exporting Metrics
Select Export Data in the top-right corner of the Overview tab to download participant and block data for further analysis. Exports include time stamps, status, and triggered checks.
Note: Data syncs in intervals. If you just launched a new link, allow a few minutes for metrics to populate.
