Protect your surveys from ghost completes and redirect manipulation.
Unique Project Identifier adds an additional layer of redirect security by attaching a unique identifier to your project's complete URL. This ensures only participants completing the correct survey path can be marked as complete---helping to eliminate survey jumpers and fraudulent redirects.
Key Benefits
Redirect Security: Prevents ghost completes and URL tampering
End-to-End Control: Verifies completion authenticity
Easy Monitoring: Track redirect failures in real time on the Progress tab
How It Works
Unlike other security checks, UPI is evaluated after survey completion, when participants are redirected from the survey platform back to dtect.
If the participant returns with a missing or incorrect Unique Project Identifier, dtect will security terminate the participant and redirect them to the supplier's Security Terminate URL.
✅ Valid UPI → participant is processed normally
❌ Missing or incorrect UPI → participant is terminated as a security terminate
Complete URL Format
When UPI is enabled, your complete redirect will include a upi
parameter:
🔗 Without UPI:
https://participation.dtect.io/redirect?status=complete&id={dtect.id}
🔐 With UPI:
https://participation.dtect.io/redirect?status=complete&id={dtect.id}&upi={unique_id}
UPI values are automatically generated per project but can be modified when setting up the project.
Enabling Uniquer Project Identifier
Uniquer Project Identifier must be enabled during project creation. This setting cannot be changed once a project is live.
When enabled, the dtect portal will visually indicate Uniquer Project Identifier activation:

Monitoring Redirect Security
Unique Project Identifier-related failures are visible in real time on the Progress tab, making it easy to monitor potential redirect fraud.
